Who is carrying who in the story, is it George carrying Lennie or is Lennie carrting George?

I see it both ways, basically they both need each other to get by and they both depend on one another. Often in the story it seems as though George is carrying Lennie because Lennie is not that bright. Without Lennie George wouldn't be able to get work, and without George Lennie wouldn't know what to do. There were so many opportunities were George could of left Lennie but didn't because he knows he needs Lennie an Lennie needs him. They are each others support system and they know that they aren't complete with out each other.
